Painting ~ Photography ~ Design

The progress of an artist is a continual self-sacrifice, a continual extinction of personality. T.S. ELIOT

Although I have not been able to let the idea of my passion for painting slip away from me, I have always sought after this need for expressing myself through the stroke of a brush.

I have been away from painting off and on for several years; while pursuing other academic studies. Now, at this time in my life, I have decided to jump back in and begin again, with intention of creating a portfolio series of paintings _ while giving allowance; freedom for expression.

The majority of my paintings relate specifically to women, along with a strong interest in nature, both evoking quiet inner beauty, silent strength, and great resilience.

Jacqueline Limoges's Work

These paintings are strongly influenced from my background in Fashion and Graphic Design. I value individual expression and enjoy working with strong vibrancy and colour and design. I generally enjoy working on larger sized canvas rather than small, although this is not absolute just a preference. I plan and sketch out my design/painting on paper then transfer it to canvas. Here is where all the magic begins, as I allow colour, shape and pattern to take on a world of their own, nothing is absolute. The key element between the canvas and myself is purely poetic... that is, moving through fluidity of space and time.
