Kayla Brown is a collector of artistic practices, ranging from drawing, tattooing and writing to painting and glass blowing. Kayla completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta University of the Arts with a semester abroad at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, and has recently taken up seasonal instruction for the Continued Education Program at AUArts. Her work focuses on the overlooked intricacies of everyday life, showcasing blemishes, mistakes and discarded items to highlight the beauty that’s hidden in the plainness of these moments as well as the consequential impact of people’s ignorance. As someone who is endlessly curious, Kayla is constantly in pursuit of novelty and pushing her abilities to the highest levels.
